MAY YOU RIP WITH MUM...
MISS YOU
On the 19th of January, my Hero, my dad, would have reached 103.
September, seems so long ago since he passed away in my arms.
I have always celebrated his years with a candy when alive
so in memory of my dad, I am doing a small candy, being
the last of a tradition I have always done.
This is a photo of dad when we flew him over via air ambulance
four years ago after mum passed away, to enable to provide a
happier life for him with us as he lived 18 hours away in
another state of Australia. We gave him that extra life and
happiness until he could no longer keep going..
RIP

Every Christmas Eve, my Grandma would light a candle and put it in the window beside the tree. It was meant as good luck and was part of my Christmas tradition. She passed 20 years ago now, but I still light a candle on Christmas Eve, no matter where I am. I think it's wonderful that you continue your tradition, do if for as many years as you feel you want to honour your Dad. I'm sure he's smiling right now as he sees this Annie.
Such a sweet tribute to your dad!! I must say I'm very happy that your dad got to spend the last years of his life with his lovely daughter and family who took very good care of him and who loved him more than anyone else on this Earth! Cherish the time and moments you spent with your dad! Sending you love and hugs dear!!

What a wonderful tribute to your Dad, thank you for dropping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. Hugs, Lori m
My father was and is my hero too. I miss him. I will send preyers for both our dads. Kisses.
Beautiful photo of your father and a wonderful thing to fly him over to visit you while he could..loz
Oh, Annie, this is so sweet! I enjoy reading about your father so much. You were blessed to have a wonderful Dad - a true hero to you. I must admit I am envious. My birth father is an alcoholic and wife beater, and my Mom was lucky to get out alive with my brother and I when I was 3. I don't have any contact with him. I have a step-father, who has been around since I was 4 and he is great, but I have not been particularly close to him although I do love him dearly. I think you already know how blessed you are/were, and it shines through when you write about your Dad. Thank you for sharing him with us! I will join your candy in remembrance of your Dad - such a kind and generous gesture - thank you!
Hugs and love, aNNie... Your Dad was a lucky person to have had you and you are a lucky person to have had him. Now I know the sense of the pearls that I can see in all your photos... sweet thought, my friend
Thanks as always for the chance to win a candy
What a beautiful photo of your Dad, Annie!! I think it's wonderful that you continue the tradition as a way to honor him!! Thinking of you as his birthday approaches. Big hugs my friend.

Hello my friend. I have just moved to be closer to my parents as I felt it was important with the getting older. They were only two hours away but I missed them and I know my mum missed me. What a lovely gesture giving candy away for your Dads birthday. I've just got to work out how to link again hahaha x
What a lovely photo and how very sweet he looks, nice gesture.

I'm sure you still feel the loss of him in your life. So sorry :(

Sorry to hear 'bout your Dad. I also lost my grandma and great-grandma this past year and also there has been other funerals within our close relatives so it has been a tough year for us.

Wonderful hero tribute my friend! He will always be your hero and will always be in your heart. Sending hugs dear lady.
Hi Annie, what a wonderful tribute to your dear Father and Hero. He was amazing to live so long, but no matter what age our loved ones are when they pass on, it's very difficult to say Goodbye. I've added your candy info to my side bar but I don't need more stash, so I have not added my link. Have a super weekend, Shirleyxx
What a heartbreakingly beautiful reason to offer a celebration candy. I will definitely celebrate your daddy's life with you. Mine passed away far too young at only 56 years of age and I miss him like crazy! So big hugs to you today as you remember your precious daddy. Hugs, Wends x
Hi Annie - What a lovely thought to offer a celebration goodie bag in memory of your dad. My mum passed away nearly 8 years ago and I still remember those dark days as if it were yesterday. You will never forget your dad, but the pain of losing him (and your mum) will ease ... time is a great healer. I won't enter your candy as I'm on the other side of the world, but I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and yours at this sad time.
Hugs, Helen x
Lovely picture of your dad Annie....time is a great healer but we never forget and out memories are with us for ever

What a wonderful tribute to your lovely dad!
Hi Annie, what a beautiful picture of your father, and a fine tribute to him.

As ever, a wonderfully generous tribute to a wonderful man. My dad was only 74 when he went 15 years ago - far too young! And mum was 81 when she was reunited with him seven years later. Yes, you were lucky to have your dad so long, but that doesn't alter the fact that he is tragically missed! Love and hugs Christine xx
A lovely tribute to your Dad. You were blessed to have him for so long, sending hugs!

I am so sorry about your father! Wonderful picture of him!
What a 'sweet' way to remember your Dad, he will be so proud of you!! My Dad was 54 when he passed 22 years ago...so very young and My Mum was 64, young too, when she passed 8 years ago. I miss them both every day, but have happy memories of them both. Like you I have my traditions too, I still have to put up their Christmas tree every year as they both loved Christmas, especially my Dad, and I hang a photo ornament of them on my own!! Sending (((hugs))) your way!!!

our fathers hold very special places in our hearts. my prayers are with you.
I thought that I was already a follower of your blog, but have joined again.
Fab picture of your Dad, Annie. How wonderful to have him until he was almost 103! I lost my Dad 5 years ago. It's a difficult time for you, I'm sure. I am thankful to have my mother sitting next to me right now, working on a jigsaw puzzle at 85. It was sweet of you to continue your tradition in your Dad's memory.
Blessings and prayers for your dad Annie.
Thanks for the chance to win your wonderful candy.
