Monte was happy to go to boot camp yesterday and
I am sure his jumping and pulling me across the road,
injuring me badly will cease when he comes home.
He is a very strong dog, full of love and character,
but needs a bit of discipline and the training will be of great help.
No, we will not see him for 3 weeks or allowed to visit as that is not
good for his training. We will be educated on how
to continue his training once he comes home to the extent where
he will not be allowed to jump, pull, run a muck inside the house
and learn that his 'bed' is his domain and not our lounges inside
or outside.  Yes, I miss him already but training
by professionals is essential for any pure
bred dog, especially labradors.
We will see his progress via video's here.

We saw a lot of devastation from the bush fires on our three hour
journey to boot camp and Heaven's knows how and if any of our
beautiful wild  life survived.  🐨
Even the overhead bridges for Koalas were burnt down...
Road signs melted and the road rails burnt.
Most of these were lit by mindless fire bugs!

Hi Annie,
ypur card is stunning! I love the sewing!
And Mr Monte on training! I never heard of that here in the Netherlands. Very special I think and it will be good for you, although yoy miss him now.
The fires are awfull. We heard about it here and about the many koalas who lost their lives in it.
And the good news: Your card has arrived yesterday! In time!!
I will open it on sunday I think...

Another gorgeous card, Annie! I love this new ADU image. I am going to check the the others now.
It is really nice that you made the decision to send Monte for training. I think that educators go great job.
As for the fires, it is a pitty that they destroy everything (lives, houses, trees). But, at least, nature will find a way to re-birth.
Hugs, my dear friend.

Super card, Annie. The image is so cute.
I'm sure that Monte will miss you as much as you'll miss him, but the three weeks will soon pass.
So sad seeing the devastation of the bush fires in Australia. xx

Your little doggie and his fairy lights is adorable Annie, love the stitching, fabulous card..I hope Monte gets better, Harry never did and yanked me down the street all the time, he was terrible..the devastation of these fires is sickening, I hope those louts pay for it, if it was my Son he would not be too happy with me that's for sure..I saw on telly the lady who took her top off to cover a screaming Koala..so sad, so very sad.

What a sweet and fun image, and so beautifully colored and adorned! Monte needs training if he hurt you badly. They don't mean to do that, they're just strong dogs and the experts know how to teach them to control their excitement and learn to control themselves with lots of love and patience. You will find a very different dog when he comes back home and I'm sure he's going to miss you as much as you'll miss him!

Annie, I know it's hard but he will be such a god boy when he gets back :)
We have 2 golden retrievers who are 70lbs and have yanked our arms off more than once. In a few years that could be really painful :)
I love your doggy card, the Christmas lights are perfect for a doggy mishap.

I want to thank you for stopping by yesterday. Nothing is broken, but I’m so sore I can’t sit and type with one hand for any length of time. I am sending this generic message because I want you to know I stopped by, appreciate you, and read your post today. Thanks for understanding. Even the Monte update.

Love the dog on your beautiful card.
I think you love and enjoy Monte even more when he gets back from training.
Here we are updated about the devastating fires all the time. It is really horrible.

Fabulous card Annie...I’m sure Monte will love boot camp He’ll be a such a different dog when he gets home and I get he can’t wait to show you wait he’s been taught.
I can’t imagine what devastation the fires have caused Annie but as you say it’s what it does to your wildlife

Another fantastic card Annie. How sad to see your beautiful countryside in ruins after the bush fires, but somehow nature always seems to recover after a time. I'm sure that Monte will miss you as much as you are missing him.

A lovely card again Annie.
I am more than sorry to read about the bush fires, I can't begin to wonder how or why any human being would do this, all those poor animals its just horrific...stay safe.x

A super fun card Annie. A long journey for you to Boot camp and I'm sure will miss Monte very much, but hopefully will be well trained when you see him again. The bush fires are terrible, we were watching koalas being rescued on the news. Let's hope many animals have been saved x

It's one thing for nature to set the fire, but to have a fire bug set it is sad. There are some sick and mean people in this world. My girlfriend also has a lab and that's why it was imperative for her to send theirs to training. You'll be much happier and so will Monte.

Beautiful card. I love how you colored the "AND" in the sentiment. [Bunny]

Beautiful doggy layout ! Wow, three weeks without Mr. Monte! Is like GerJanne says, we do not know this kind of training either in Belgium. Here, even if you own a dog that can serve as a police dog for instance, you get to train your dog, but in a (police)dog school. My former neighbours had a dog like that. I'm curious about Mr. Montes 'skills' when he comes home again :) Must be very special experience. Creative regards, GinaX

Hi Annie, this is a beautiful card, loving the image. I am sure Monte will do very well at his boot camp and you will surely see a difference. Such a shame about the bush fires and the devastation they cause. I am just so happy that you were not affected by them.
Hugs

Thta image is just as sweet as can be Annie! Love it! :) I am so sure you miss Monte, but it will be all happy when you greet each other and hopefully you'll be able to handle him better when all trained. So sad to hear about those fires and hoping that the poor wild life will thrive along! HUGS

Gorgeous card Annie, beautifully designed and that's such a cute pup!
The bush fires and their devastation are horrific, but it's even more horrific to set them on purpose...I do wonder what is up with some people!
I'm sure that you and Monte will both benefit from the training. It's hard to part with him but the time will soon go...it's the responsible thing to do, an untrained large dog, no matter how sweet natured and friendly is a disaster waiting to happen. He'll soon be home and you'll be able to enjoy him without worry!

Hi Annie, your little Woof card is delightful, beautifully coloured and designed.
Well this sounds just the thing for Monty. I've never heard of this here, but Milo, my son's Lab could have done with a Boot Camp. I had to stop taking him out very early in his life as I was scared of letting him go, he was so strong. He is also a jumper and as I'm only 4ft. 11inches,he towers over me,nearly knocking me down. I did suggest taking him to obedience classes, but it fell on deaf ears. Milo is a beautiful, loving dog,but a handful and as for Rowan the cocker spaniel, well she's a swirling dervish, she never stops.
Anyhoo, Monty will do just fine and it will be all the more wonderful to have him home, Kate x x

That's a lovely card with a cute image :)
I understand that you will miss Monte (and he will miss you) but at the speed that time seems to go the next three weeks will fly by!

Here in the UK, we've been seeing how bad the bush fires are, and it's so sad, my thoughts go to all those affected.

All the best Jan

Adorable Christmas card, aNNie! Such a surprise hearing about Montè training without you could seeing him! You are very brave. Hope that he will return more educate. So very sad for the fires and all the Nature devastations. I can't watch animals and forests suffering.
Hugs

That dog sure does look happy all dressed up in his Christmas lights :) Love the touches of sparkle you added!
It will be nice I am sure to have him trained to be a little more calm, it's not fun getting your arm yanked by a strong dog.

What an adorable image aNNie. Love what you have done here. So Christmasy! I bet you are missing Monte and can't wait to see him a better companion for you after boot camp. We are lucky that the bushfires are not near us as there is a lot of vegetation around.

Oh Annie that is some cute image just reminds me of my cats being tangled with the fairy lights too don’t have a dog but this one on your card is so cute such a lovely card x

It is a real cute card Annie.
I'm sure you will be missing Monte but it sounds a really good idea to go to stay for training. He will be missing you as well.

Annie, your card is adorable. It will be good that he gets the proper training since he is a big dog. I know my daughter has a 10 pound teddybear and it has a real pull when I take him out to go to the bathroom so I can't imagine a pup that is growing like Monte and you don't want to get hurt.

Donna Ellis said...

Monte is going to miss you, Annie! But I will say that our "rescue" GSD was much happier after we took him to obedience classes. It's as though they are happy and content with their role once they have been trained and know their place. I don't know why some people don't agree with that because a well-mannered dog is always a pleasure to be around. Your puppy collage is darling! pretty doilies and splatters make it extra pretty! hugs, de

Glad to read why Monte has to do the training...
Your card is a funny one!
And hope that nature can profit from this dangerous "cleening"; I know sometimes it is good for nature, but the scale is so scaring big... Hugs, Gerrina

Leslie Miller said...

First of all I have to say your card is cute beyond words! You know how I love a cute image like this, and it being a dog is a plus. I understand about the importance of having a well mannered dog, and a lab is strong and can be very rambunctious unless trained. Wally and LuLu were easy to train and are very well mannered, within the bounds we set for them. We're lenient about the bed and furniture because it suits us, but in other ways we're very particular. I've been seeing the news about the fires and the Koalas and last night I just cried.
